This is my draft of my front cover. Initially, I wanted a picture of a male wearing a suit with the colour scheme of blue and yellow. The reasons why I chose these two colours was because firstly they blend well with each other and yellow produces a warming effect and arouses cheerfulness. Whereas, blue is often associated with depth and stability and symbolizes intelligence, wisdom, confidence and truth, hence why i decided to put these two colours together to represent the college atmosphere. I added different cover lines which are linked to college work example "Top 10 ways on how to revise" which many students will find as beneficial. Due to the colours, I wanted the main image to be serious to present that the college is not just for fun or a joke but that it is serious in order for the students to succeed at their chosen pathways. I decided to add a puff and insert that paintballing was available to all students because by the end of the day work is important but we need to be balanced. At the very top I added a skyline which will change every month depending on the date to ensure students are updated.

College Magazine Cover
This is my front cover, and as you can see it is not completed and isn't what i originally planned. I am happy with the masthead and skyline as it went according to plan but my main image didn't work out. This is because my model wasn't reliable and didn't turn up with the right costume I asked him too. Next time I will make sure to use a reliable model and make sure i give myself enough time and set a personal due date that if anything does go wrong I will have enough time to catch up or quickly change my idea (if needed). Due to the colour of the clothes that my artist/model is wearing I couldn't stick to my original colour scheme. next time i will provide the costume to ensure that my next model won't have any excuses.

In Today's Lesson I have focused on my colour scheme, masthead, bar code and some of my cover lines. I experimented with different colours and finally decided to go for blue and yellow as my main colours. I have also included a skyline to make my magazine more realistic. In the next lesson I will include my main picture and finish of the coverlines.
